Notable Changes From the Previous Year
There aren’t any noticeable changes from the previous version, except that the 2024 lineup has 18-inch polished and painted aluminum wheels as standard for all trims.
Performance Specs
The new lineup has a standard 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 engine, which delivers 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. For the Overland and Summit trims, there’s also a 5.7-litre V-8 engine as optional -- it is considerably more powerful, with 357 hp and 390 ft-lb of torque. The carmaker has yet to release exact figures for fuel consumption.
Design Elements
The 2024 Grand Cherokee L is considered the most luxurious model in class, with 16-way adjustable driver and front seats. There’s also interior lighting with a wide range of colours available for the Overland and above trims. All models have an incredible interior space, which can go up to 2,395L when the rear seats are folded.
You can tell trims apart by the exclusive exterior badging of each model. The exterior design includes chrome accents for Laredo, Limited and Overland; the Summit and Summit Reserve have platinum accents; and the Altitude has gloss black exterior accents. There’s also a dual-pane panoramic sunroof available for Overland and above trims.
Technology
All models are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Laredo and Altitude trims come with a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen display equipped with a Uconnect 5 multimedia centre. Higher trims have the Uconnect 5 NAV and a 10.1-inch display. The flagship model also comes with a MacIntosh audio system, including 19 speakers.
Safety Features
The new Grand Cherokee L is all about safety, and most features are standard for all trims. They include airbags, four-wheel anti-lock disk brakes, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blindspot monitors, parking sensors, and a rear backup camera. There are supplemental camera systems, side distance warnings, and parallel and perpendicular parking assists for the Summit and Summit Reserve trims.
